Great tune. And she wrote another good one, Lullaby of the Leaves.

Having trouble finding music, even a lead sheet on this one. Any tips?

    Sounds good though.

Not to be a stickler, but very commonly the last two bars of the second A section is an Fma7.

I have to say that's the case on a lot of YouTube backing tracks.

I think the Fmaj is probably in the original changes, there is a reference (by Alec Wilder) to a ‘major cadence’ in this tune on the jazzstandards website.

On the other hand, the versions I know (Pat Martino and Doug Raney) stick to Fm. So I guess either way is possible.

    Absolutely, both work fine.

I'm working on my Pat Martino version. Might have to leave a few notes out here and there... :-)

Hmmm... having trouble posting. Trying again...

(The following is reposted; I had a problem editing the original posting.)

Maybe this will help. Sorry for the smudgy inner pages and for any errors... done quite a long time ago!

    Solo starts at about 0:50

Posting the recording separately, to try to work around issues with my previous post.

You are sweet. I'm afraid I'm not trying to play like Martino! I couldn't do it if my life depended on it. It was a joke.

    Nobody ever could
Still, a lot of good ideas to steal! His lines sound great at any tempo

    Great sense of humor.
I have almost all of Pat Martino's records and most of his music education books.
It is a material for 50 years of work ...

This is my solo. Wise comments are welcome.
If somebody writes stupid things about playing scales "up and down" - I will delete the recording.

    Here's mine.

Backing by jjazzlab as usual using a "Guitar Bossa" style. Sorry but I liked the latin rhythm.

    Nice sound,tempo and nice phrasing.
Good idea with latin- bossa style.
I also practice tunes in latin style a lot - it opens up new horizons.
It's strange that there hasn't been a single bossa nova written by A.C.Jobim so far on virtual jam.

Welcome back! Excellent playing—I think nylon string sound really suits your playing style well.

    Nice to see you.
    Thanks.
I've been fooling around about nylon stringed guitars lately and playing hardly any other guitars.

yes ... I forgot about Wave ... what about other Jobim bossa-novas?
Jobim wrote a lot of this, and there are other composers as well.
