Herbie take 4 minutes to explain how Miles showed him the old "there are no wrong notes" principal. And Herbie tries to extend the lesson to a philosophy of life.

    I've seen that before.

Herbie is the man, and Miles is the man. Miles was the master of taking a young player and showing him how to expand his sound.

There were and are a lot of great mentors in music, but Miles was on another level.

There are no wrong notes. There are only more or less satisfying resolutions.

hah..exactly!...play a clam and show a perplexed facial expression..and you are toast

play a clam..keep a poker face and repeat it...you are taking things outside!!

resolution is everything! ...when improvising...(when reading the dots is another issue!)
