I already posted these. I don't know if they were seen on the other thread or not.

These were interesting. I might have liked it more if it had other instruments along with your guitar sounds.

Here's an interesting video on the topic from my favourite contemporary composer:

... and a link to recordings of his codex series, which are pieces that primarily use improvisation -

Oh, that was very nice, Jeff.

And please let us not be deluged with YouTubes. We know where to find them if we want them.

This guy! Darn, you got me again. I was smiling from the first chord.....you know that ending, could have easily taken off into another direction of the piece. That was refreshing. Thank you!

I was able to see the AACM and sit in on a lecture by Roscoe Mitchell once, but never got to play.

    Inspiring music.

Thanks for listening. I'm feeling like I want to do this stuff a lot more.

    I love the slide effects...

In another thread a newer movie by Wim Wenders was mentioned, which got me thinking about a recent conversation I had about "Paris, Texas," which inspired a rewatch (well, of the first half so far, it's long) last night and thereby a new listen to Ry Cooder's beautiful soundtrack. Slide guitar, particularly on an acoustic, is such an amazing visceral thing...the scratches and bumps against the frets, things some would hear as imperfections, actually heighten it's beauty.

These are fun. Are you tuned to anything in particular or was that randomized?

I just did something spontaneous too. Since you guys are going with video, I did the same. Here is 4:15 of what was on my heart at the moment. Now I also need to go and listen to all of you.

In the early 1970s, free jazz was very popular in Poland....

not sure what you’re looking for in this thread. It’s nice to see the free vids from others on the group. Me, where would I even begin?

The idea of this thread was to bring feee-improv/experimental players together to support, encourage, and inspire each other. I myself don't have the balls to post mine, but I like to listen to and encourage you guys who do it.

This is my short piece written for the contemporary dance ballet 'Be carefull'.
I recorded it in the early 1990s.

Mark, you are one of the best I have ever heard. I can listen to you all day. Wonderful, absolutely wonderful. My soul thanks you.

I did another one.....because Mark deeply inspired me. Just in general....his voice on the guitar inspired me. So I woke up, started my coffee and jumped right into this. One take. I am a fond believer in the "one take" method. It is the freshest take you will probably get in the entire day...it is your absolute truth of the start of your day. I believe that.

No video this time. And what can I say? I like playing to the birds!

I could do one of these every day....I love playing this way.
