Being in the States you probably weren't wondering but back in the day all the players had something they kept their bits and bobs in. Not necessarily their guitar case but something within easy reach. A lot of them wore waistcoats/vests with pockets in them.

It's likely someone here would know about it.

Today's go for it, based on another very short theme that I heard in my head while driving to work. It's in D major and D minor at the same time It's in D everything.

I took a nap, woke up and then I did this tonight. I call this "Passaros".

I am in the process of releasing a first album with CD Baby. I am adding this track to the record. It feels right to me. Album is just for fun, and I don't expect anything from it, but it was important for me to do it.

Here is a screenshot of my HearNow page. This song is on the album. These are 30 second previews. Just wanted to share the coolness of this.

Judge this as it's own music. Not to be compared with anything.

And the background rain is cool, because it kind of eliminates my guitars annoying buzz. Love you guys....thank you for listening!

Because I originally posted this as being relevant in some abstract way, to the tune Christmas Time is Here.....but I was so wrong. So don't judge this or compare to that tune, because it is definitely not even remotely close. I am floating in another galaxy, and that's cool. Just wanted to state the facts, before anyone gets into this.

I am experimenting with another unusual tuning today. Don't know what it is, but I liked what was coming out from it. It is pretty. Also, my mic placement today seemed to be just about right. The experimental quest continues...

And, well....as you know, I guess I like singing to the birds! Thanks for listening to my wonderful mess!

This is a brief improvisation with a theme i came up with just before. The improvisation is free and kinda makes up changes as it goes, but all in key, for the most part. Just a different way to play without a preconceived notion, I guess.
As I think I said when I spotted this on YouTube: Inspiring. Makes me want to take up nylon string, if not outright classical technique (e.g., John McLaughlin’s many recordings playing a classical guitar with a flatpick).

I mean, improvising is pretty much all I do. Every so often, I slip into something recognizable; for the most part, I make it all up on the spot. Such as:

    And not only on guitar:

As I mentioned in the Semester of Solo Guitar thread, I have a bit of a complex about this. I have never been able to just reel off covers, be that from The Real Book or The Rolling Stones. But I have always been able to improvise tunes…Eh, 40 years at it and still learning.

Thank you! And yes, I always use a pick (Fender 351 Extra Heavy Celluloid) for all my fretted instruments (tenor, plectrum, and five string banjo included).

I love this! And the singing birds? You’re in great company; Eric Dolphy used to play along with singing birds.

That tuning makes for some gorgeous clusters. I want some of those sounds out of standard tuning but the stretches that might require could cause injury. This is a good one and I really am happy to hear you without the amp hum you had in your electric tracks.
