Awesome technical abilities. Folks that are interested in Mancuso should check out his instagram where he posts more frequently (albeit only 1 minute ditties) than his youtube channel.

Al Di Meola found him on Youtube and understandably, fell in love with his technical ability. The interviewer asked him if he would go on tour with Mancuso and Di Meola said he didn't know if he could hang like that anymore (Obviously referring to the fact that he does more acoustic stuff minus the speed demon thing these days). It was a cool interview.

His wikipedia page says he won a scholarship for Berklee in 2017 but there is no indication that he took up the offer. May be he doesn't want to be a free tutor for a bunch of rich intermediate rock guitarists.

Apparently both Al Di Meola and Pat Metheny ended up doing teaching when they went to Berklee as students.

Regarding his technique, I admire it when a musician is confident enough follow their own personal path. Especially if that path becomes a fresh inspiration for others.

That's interesting and funny at the same time. Thanks for that tidbit.

Metheny did not go to Berklee as a student.

You might be right, I think it was University of Miami where he attended as a student but shortly after offered to teach instead.

It seems like he was also offered to teach at Miami university after his first year as an undergrad:

"That figure might be a slight exaggeration, but Metheny was dedicated (he says obsessed) enough to impress Dr. Bill Lee, dean of the University of Miami’s music school, to offer him a full ride after hearing him play in a Kansas City club. But before Metheny’s freshman year was over, he told Lee he was going to drop out. The professor offered the 18-year-old a teaching position."
