In May 2008 Bucky Pizzarelli came to Toronto to play at the Heliconian Club. After the gig he kindly agreed to give me a lesson the following morning at his hotel. Here's the first 15 minutes or so. The guitar is a mid-1940's L50 which we traded back and forth during the lesson. In this part we were working on straight acoustic rhythm. His message (repeated often): "Lighten up!"
I wanted to share this as a tribute to the memory of this charming and generous guitarist. Please ignore my flubs!
A belated thanks for this gem you shared with us. Bucky comes across as such a friendly and warm person, in addition to being the master we all know he was. You were lucky to have this opportunity of meeting him!
Over the years I owned 5 Acoustic image amps. They are great for a flat PA sound and with a Raezer's Edge cabinet do a "Pat Martino" jazz guitar sound, if you like that sort of thing (I do,...

I have been fortunate to have seen Boulou and his brother Elios in the UK a few times. True masters of the guitar.
I also have a few of their vinyls which I got in the early 90s. It wasn't easy to...
Amazing! I have some very old vinyl records by Bolou Ferre and to see him in a recent video is a great pleasure. Boulou is an extraordinary guitar player and a true Artist. Amazing technique and...
I dunno, I just think it's bad form to call something at a jam that's likely to go on so long. I mean, if you really know and trust the players, all good. But if it's an open jam and a lot of people...
I watched the whole video. The video talks about a shipping from the U.S.A. to Italy. I don't know what happens and how shipments of musical instruments work in the United States and other countries,...
Niko : thank so much again for your experience. Like yourself I'm really an aficianado when it comes to tone purity and such. Almost a fanatic without getting riduculous. Anyway I'm going to take...

The link didn't get included in the previous post, my fault I suppose.
Yeah, when I bought my Beaudens some years ago they were available here in US on Amazon and several other outlets. Since then they have disappeared from all US sources.
