I recenttly came across this Eastman guitar on a Japanese site. I had never seen it. Is it a prototype ? is it a new model ?

Does anybody know anything about it ?New Eastman Archtop ? prototipo ?-eastm3-jpegNew Eastman Archtop ? prototipo ?-east1-jpegNew Eastman Archtop ? prototipo ?-eastm2-jpeg

Nice look. Features from the Pagelli & Pisano. Did you see a price? Maybe in Yen?

Kind of looks like a Bambino Elite to me.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

My guess is that it's a production version Pagelli (or a prototype of one). A lot to like.

Cool! The thin thing is similar to Marchione's model.

The label shown in the pics states T145SM SP
T145SM is a thinline, 15" body, but not that thin !
On this one, there are specific pointy cutaway, "f"-holes, body depth, floating pick-up, fancy tailpiece.
This is probably enough to justify the SP suffix
177 000 yen is quite a low price for what looks like a very nice and unique guitar from a reputed manufacturer

    177,000 yen is roughly $1,200

I did the math too. Insanely for a very cool guitar.

Just need to ditch that floating pickup. Those suck.

Sarcasm is difficult to discern on forum posts.

(… my instincts are suggesting that mr. beaumont is jesting… )

I was just starting a fact so the next person didn’t have to look it up. It’s a cool guitar.

Eastman had started a custom shop but it doesn't seem to exist anymore. Also, that guitar has the regular headstock, I thought the better looking (to me) "new" symmetrical headstock was going to be used on new production, but apparently not.

I'm sorry I missed that auction. For that money it was indeed a steal. I would buy one for $1200 without even pausing to think about it.
