[edit] I heard back from Victor Baker. He does not make f-hole plugs any longer.

Just get some foam, glue and an exacto knife

That's weird considering he was the one who told me plugs didn't work and always had packing tape on his archtops

Seems to me you could try to do it with an exacto knife, a pair of flip flops and some thought about how to cut a flange into it. Buy size 16 and you might get multiple plugs from each shoe.

Doug's plugs consist of an 1/8" thick piece of said foam cut slightly larger than the f hole to prevent it from falling inside and a thick plug mounted underneath cut just small enough to fit in the hole w out falling out.
Not really rocket science if you have a little time to spare.

Three hours later, you are tending your wounds and wishing you could just call Doug.

So nice he posted it twice. And the cats are a bonus.

Note to self - many more emojis next time.

It also looks like you need to be really careful not to push them through the holes with this design, or is there a "ledge" on the top side?
-
The ones I've seen have a ledge on top. It makes the f holes look larger than they are. I suppose that might be a feature for some.

I make them out to a dense but flexible neoprene foam material probably similar to EVA foam. They are 0.5" with a depth of 0.375" and a 0.125" lip so they don't fall into the hole. Made in Arizona in my shop.

Just a minor suggestion if you're so inclined--try making a pair out of EVA, they tend to have a little smoother look and the edges look sharper, makes for a slicker looking finished product.
Its part of the reason I like my old set of Dougs Plugs. Again, just a suggestion....
