I currently play a Cordoba GK Studio Negra and I use a pick for soloing. I alternate between a D'andrea Pro Plec and a Jazz iii ultex. Both of those picks give me a nice sound but I can still hear some chirp on both. I'm looking for a pick with a slightly darker sound and less chirp.

I've been doing some research and I see that a lot of people like Blue Chip picks. I decided to get the Jazz 60 LG because the thickness is most similar to the pro plec. Are there any other picks I should be checking out that will work on my nylon string?

Mikko Karhula, a Finnish guitarist with quite a following on YouTube, uses picks he makes of various hardwoods or in combination with bone. Each one is a little work of art. </title> <link rel="profile" href="http://gmpg.org/xfn/11" /> <link rel="pingback" href="https://www.finnpick.com/xmlrpc.php" /> <title>Finnpick – Handmade Picks with Character

The smaller teardrop Clayton picks work well, 1.00 or 1.26 in thickness. Fred Kelly blue Delrin jazz picks sounded great, but may not be available any more. For the roundest and warmest sounds, the pick has to have a little "give", like fingernails do. Also, generally speaking, a rounded rather than pointy point is desirable.

If I played nylon string, I would definitely check out Mikko's picks: see his youtube vids.

I use a Wegen 2.5mm with my GK Negra. Works for me, but I’m not really bothered by things like “chirp”, so YMMV.

Years ago, I used to play nylon string guitar with a pick. I found then that the Herco nylon pick worked best. The Herco vintage silver nylon pick is still available.
