Kudos and congrats and enjoy that GB200! A MIJ Ibanez is hard to beat, they’re a well kept secret. I had the GB10 but could never get comfy with the skinny body and skinny tone.

    (MIJ PM200 and AF200 here)

The GB200 is a beautiful looking guitar! I love the rosewood headstock overlay - so classy.
I used to be sceptical about size having much bearing on amplified tone but going from a 16'' Greco ES 175 copy to a 17" Matsumoku Epi Emperor F, the difference in tone was profound. There are other differences between the two guitars, but the bigger body adds a certain depth of tone the other guitar lacked.

The Larger sound box makes it more resonate so its voicing comes clear and louder. And with the right pickups that character will come through its sound.

GJ, Man, that is a really pretty guitar.
Its good hear the bigger guitar sounds bigger. Sometimes, thats not the case. If not made right, the sound can get lost in a larger body. Almost like a the notes dont get along so well in there..
I am a BIG Fan of the GB Ibanez Guitars. I'm glad I got one.
    Thanks for sharing. JD

This came up locally so I thought I'd have a look.
I've not got on with these in the past. I felt them to be a bit flat but this one has a strong balanced tone and is louder acoustically than I thought it would be.
It's X braced, as best I could make out. (Edit: It's parallel)
Beautiful woods and paint job. Neck is sublime.

I will make a custom 5 ply black pick guard for it and put some Sure Grip II knobs on.
It's basically the same shape and body as the AF2000/200 but with a solid spruce top, a slightly deeper body and different appointments.

Just going over which Ibanez archtops I've had or have. There are models in between but I think I've hit all the major milestones or there about.

    2355
    Fa-100
    FA-800 (2471 equivalent)
    JP20
    Af120
    Af200
    GB15
    GB-20
    Gb-100
    GB-200

A 2460, 2740 and an FA-700 would be nice. They're the last ones on my list.

I'm sorry, but you must add the AF2000 to your lust! Sorry, list!

I'll get some fresh half rounds on her and give her a clean up. Hard to bond with a guitar when it's got someone else's sweat and strains on.
Its a LOT of guitar for the money.

The mahogany sides and back is interesting for sure.
