Beautiful take of How My heart Sings.
You sound very nice, gentlemen. The Gibsons Es-175 sound great. DB's Gibson-wow.
A waltz with a fragment of 8 bars on 4/4 is a serious challenge for a duo at a distance.
    Congratulations.

    DB and Graham,
Really, really nice stuff. I appreciate how it went long but it never got boring. And you never got out of complete control.
Bop lines have to be embedded in your heart. Both of you guys have the gift.
I wish I could do that.
    I enjoyed that a lot.
    Thanks guys.

Two guys with superb jazz guitar chops and two Gibson ES-175D guitars. Perfect!

    Very nice take fellas!

The Gibsons ES175 are indeed sounding great as Gibsons ES175 are wont to do. But the playing does help rather.

I just remembered we normally only do this every 8 years, so this one wasn’t due until 2028. Apologies for the oversight.

I had two Norlin 175's in years past (a 1977 and a 1982) and they were both excellent. Wish I kept them both......

    Mine is an 82. I think Graham’s a 76 (?).

    Yes that’s right.

I think Jimmy Raney played a Norlin in later years.

Bravo! And Bravo! Superb job, guys!
I had a Norlin 175, and echoing SS, I wish I still had it. Not to say anything against my 2004. I just like duos. Like you guys.

That he did. You mean the blonde one? Some pics of a sunburst one on the internet too ... I think on most of my favourite Raney (Criss Cross) a Norlin 175 was used. Also on his work with Doug I believe. Is that right?

Yes I believe so. The blonde one appears on several of the album covers in that period.

The way I see it, thank God for Norlin. The few bad opinions of them amongst collectors allows for some of those GREAT guitars to be more affordable.
My Johnny Smith was a Norlin. Not too fancy in the woods department, but after those awful flat frets were replaced, that was the best guitar I will ever have. I miss it dearly. The Gold on the metalwork still looked brand new after 43 years. And the sound...

    Once again, great Video guys.
    Keep making them.

I hope Gibson sees this video and realize the huge mistake they made discontinuing the 175. Stupid decision Gibson.

    Very musical rendition!

The bar for guitar duos on "How My Heart Sings" was set dauntingly high by the Jimmy & Doug Raney 4, with Billy Hart and with Michael Moore at his usual stratospherically-musical level. I burned this record out as a kid:
