I hadn't considered a Tal Farlow before when I was looking for an L-5, but a local friend decided to sell his and being a Tal fan as well I had to make it happen.
As a standalone instrument it's a special guitar, but even more so as it was the very last guitar Gibson delivered to Tal in early '98 before he went to play some gigs in the Sky.

If you actually are danish and ever get tired of it .. hit me up
It's been my dream guitar ever since I tried one in Aage Jensen back in 1998, but I couldn't afford it, so ended with a Howard Roberts Fusion instead
Big congrats from me!!

Tusen takk, Lobomov!
I'm not actually Danish though I lived in Aarhus for a time. I recall visiting Woodstock guitars and know that all I could afford as a student then was a simple guitar strap for a Washburn Eagle I picked up at a genbrug shop in Skagen!
All the best

All you need now are gigantic hands and you are set!
May that beauty of a guitar inspire your playing for many years to come.

An excellent and historic example of one of Gibson's finest (IMHO) designs. Congratulations, and play it in good health!
-
Wow, that's a beauty. Enjoy, and make great music on it.

That burst shade is to die for.

Oh boy..
That is really, really beautiful.
Enjoy it. You have a special guitar there, with some history.

According to the invoice Tal didn’t get to enjoy it very long. He died 3 months later in July. A big Congrats !

It seems inconceivable that Gibson ceased production of the Tal Farlow, it has become
a very desirable guitar, especially since Dutchbopper has demonstrated his own model
alongside his ES 350, my own Custom Crimson shop , is the doppelganger of Vinny!K "s
and a superb guitar, he and I have no plans to sell ours.

I scooped the last Tal Farlow made in 2018.

Rumor has it that Tal showed the filter of a viceroy cigarette to Gibson for the color he wanted.

Tal Farlow and Pasquale Grasso were born to play guitar. Octopus fingers.

Obviously 1998 was a great year for the TF model but sadly our hero left us.
