I found this oddball Carlo Robelli at the pawn shop for a dirt cheap price. The pickups and electronics seem to be shot, but everything else seems to be okay. I know these are the Sam Ash house brand. The older Korean ones were made by Peerless. The newer ones, I believe, were made in China by Samick. I don't know what this is. There is no label in the F holes and the headstock doesn't say, but it seems to be decent quality even if it's beat up a bit. I haven't been able to find another one like this. It's kind of a semi hollow thin semi hollow L-5. I can find almost exact L-5 copies, but not this one. So I really have no idea what this is. Either way, here are pics.

It looks like a full center block.

This appears to be the same guitar. If that's the case, this was probably made by Peerless.

We are nosey bunch how cheap did you get it for? Buff it out with some compound and a set of decent pickups ( most important) and you are ready to L5ish. A good wiring harness can be had with CTI pots for I think around $75. Lots of pickups to choose from that would work well.

$75. I have pickups and the parts to build a wiring harness. I'll do that work myself.

75$ is good...but is that a long crack running up the neck & back of the headstock?

    cheers

No. It's the wood grain. I checked that carefully.

I like using braided wire for my harnesses:

CTS Emerson spec pots, Russion PIO caps, Braded or vintage wire.

I think I'm going to switch the hardware to chrome. I have most of the parts. I just need a tailpiece. It's less expensive than buying gold covers for a set of pickups I have. Maybe Duncan Phat Cats? I have a set on my bench.

This is the hollow body I got last week after a full rewire and new pickups. I used a set of DiMarzio 36th Anniversary PAF's and some gold covers that I had. I made the covers work. Surprisingly, the wiring harness worked right the first time I installed it. That's good.
