    Looking to sell some vintage pieces that I don’t play and maybe get a nice archtop trying to avoid Gibson,Eastman,Peerless and other “well known” brands

    looking used

    Sadowsky LS-17
    Heritage Eagle
    Campellone (increase budget)
    American Archtop (unger)
    Holst

    what are some other good brands in this price point, looking for an electric archtop to play plugged in
    amp is a Sequel Tribute

    At a 3K cut-off used, it's going to be a very long list without a bit more info, IMO.
    Any preferences re:
    -short vs. medium vs longscale length;
    -laminated vs pressed solid vs carved top;
    -floating vs set-in pickup, number of pickups, single coil vs humbucking;
    -full-depth vs medium-depth vs shallower rims;
    -16" vs 17" vs something larger or smaller?

    I'd include the Hofner models "Chancellor" + "Jazzica" .
    A Guild X500 could be a contender and also the Ibanez GB200.

    You can find a couple D’Aquistos on reverb for 1500 right now, they look quite nice.

    More like half a Chancellor.
    However, a used Jazzica or New President will cost well under $3K.

    The couple D’Aquistos on Reverb sounds like an excellent option. I would probably go for it.

    Are you avoiding Gibson, Eastman, Peerless, due to their offerings, prices, ?

    At $3k you are almost there for a some great guitars both laminate and carved as well. My advice is look at Stephan Holst, Franz Elferink for a new build.
    Campellone, Gibson, Sadowsky, and a few others in the used market.

    Remember just like anything you usually get what you pay for, and better to get what you want now I stead pay thousands in search of.

    I think I’m looking for something 17” with a set-in pickup

    my other Archtop is all solid wood with a CC pickup in it

    I am leaning towards a laminate because I am looking for a darker more electric tone
    but I do remember the Heritage Eagle I owned also had a nice dark electric sound, even with the floating pickup

    How about a Heritage H550? Those are great sounding, 17", full featured laminate jazz boxes. And they are in your price range.
