Hi Gustavo.
The specs for the new guitar are :-
Scale 25" , Body 17" width, Depth 3" Nut width 1.11/16th"
It will feature a KA built in pickup with controls on the body
The model designation is "DeLuxe " and will have a thick
carved top. The Colour finish will be Chestnut Sunburst.
I have every confidence in Mark Campellone, who is very
efficient, and a gentleman, a pleasure to deal with
Best regards, Silverfoxx

Can I refer you to my answer to Gustavo here, which details the
specs of the new Campellone about to commence its build
Kind regards, silverfoxx

These posts are compounding my gas. The final bucket list guitar was supposed to be an L-4 CES. But, now... I’m wondering if a Campellone should be next. Until I can figure it out, I am enjoying experiencing this vicariously through Vinny1k and now Silverfoxx!
Happy New Guitar Day today, Vinny!
Good luck on this build Silverfoxx!

If you ask me, I think there should be Walther PPK's inlaid on the fretboard, from various angles. And we all know the 1st song you should play on this guitar..
Only fitting..
So deserving for you to have this guitar Foxmann. Mark is gonna make you very happy. I am so excited for you buddy.
Cant wait!

Mark told me he picked out some really nice flamed maple that is really going to “POP” with the chestnut sunburst.
007- enjoy the build ride.
-
this guitar will definitely have a "License to Kill"

Note the D’Aquisto New Yorker Mark is restoring in the pic. It was a original blonde but was left in a attic for years. Top was cracked and needed a complete rebound. The gassing binding stained the guitar hence the new dark finish.
-
Vinny,
Re: the D’Aquisto in the background, that would be EXACTLY what I would do, if I had the chance. Find an old D'Angelico with good bones and send it right to Mark. Have him turn it into a brand new guitar again, with new bindings a neck reset, build up the neck height, firm up the bracing.. Ask him to return a guitar to me that I know will last another 60 years without me having to worry about it. With a cutaway. Not restored to collector condition, but Restored to a condition that is like it was when it was new. I know I would pay probably $15,000 for the bones and pay Mark $3,500 and receive back a guitar that would be worth $8,000. Bad business decision, but I wouldn’t care one bit. I’d get buried with it anyway.
I’d ask Mark to put his name inside the guitar. A D’Angelico made perfect and new again by Mark Campellone. 2 of the greats.

(Yeah I know, I lost my mind.. this CoVid thing is driving me f crazy.)

Both Mark C and Vinny1k recommended the KA in lieu of a '57, their opinion was that a KA sounds even
better mounted on a Campellone, and I am happy with their advice. I will say in passing that your
Gibson has the best tone that I , and others, have heard from an L5.
-
A KA is more balanced and focused than a 57. IMO much better for chord melody. Every string has the same volume every fret.
I always thought the 57 was the best till Mark was adamant about the KA. I wanted a 57 in my Campellone. Glad I listened to Mark.

Sorry Lawson but after being knighted by the Queen 2 years ago for his life long service as her No.1 secret agent I believe his opinion holds more weight on his daily service weapon of choice. Not to mention his keen marksmanship. He can shoot a gnat off a water buffalo’s butt from 500 yards. And yes his martini must be shaken not stirred.
And when he wasn’t stomping out evil he was instructing his disciple Joe Pass.

Note the perfect book match on the back.
007 you are going to get a real whooper. ( Jimmy D term).

Ted you are next batch right ? I know Mark is excited to do a cherry sunburst. He said he hasn’t done one in a while. Guitar build threads are quite fun to see chunks of wood come to life.

If ANYONE on the planet was having a guitar made, and it wasnt me, the one person I am MOST glad its being made for is YOU.
You deserve this guitar so much. Like our friend Stringswinger would say, A life well lived.. You have graced the world with the presence of an absolute true gentleman of the highest caliber. Well, as a result, add ANOTHER beauty to your life (and you have many)..
I am very happy for you Foxman. A perfect guitar for a perfect husband, perfect Daddy and perfect friend.
All the best, to the best..

Machine process on top and back. The dark spots is very slight burning from the process that gets carved and sanded off. Very nice wood !

Looks great already, Alan.
-
Hi Rob,
Thank you for your enthusiasm too, the good thing here is there are no sour
grapes, or snide remarks, on a new build . just general good vibes. I can
assure you that on completion this guitar will meet with all round approval.
Best regards, Alan
-
Mark has a Cameo in this batch. It will be chestnut sunburst also.
Can’t wait to see this batch.
Next batch Tony will be up to bat. Mark told me he now has a year backlog. No rest for the weary. LOL....
-
All braced up and ready for the cutaway.
No seam separating worries
-
As you can see Mark has it down to a fine tuned science.
His necks are very stable also. My Special needed 1 trussrod crank then never moved again. My V1K none so far. He also uses a dual action rod.
I am very happy for one of my dearest friends.
-
^ so clean inside and out! an artist
cheers
-
Vin and Alan, WOW, that looks great. This is such an enjoyable experience. I wonder if the strip that reinforces the top plate joining does more than just reinforcing. Perhaps a source of that unique Campellone sound?
I’m happy for you Alan. Vin, you are a great friend.
