I bought a used plectrum banjo with significant fret wear, ONLY in the beginning cowboy chord area, strings E-B-G, frets 1-2-3. It's as if the player spent 5 years on Mel Bay page 1.

Anyway, is it a difficult thing to get just the 1st 3 or 4 frets replaced? FWIW, they are typical banjo frets, smaller in size, and no radius.

    Thanks,
    WS

No big deal if you use correct size wire and a fret level.

Yes just replace the frets that need it simple, real simple, and on a banjo easier than a guitar.

I have done this no big deal.

    Replace frets level and crown.
