totally agreed. But is (imo) more jazz designed than the 339

Does anyone here experienced a crack or any problem in dot or 339 neck?

No personal experience of that nature and none that I have heard of.

However, I was not impressed with the unstable tuning capabilities of the stock tuners on the Epi Casino Coupe and changed them.

ok thats not a big deal... I saw some examples on the internet of fretboards separating from the neck... due to... maybe heavy gauge strings... badly glued... i dont know. It happened to me with an old 335 from Samick and it sucks... i dont want to go that road again.

Hello everyone, after several month of research and trying different guitars in stores I found it.
I bought an Ibanez as73fm-gvg it is a very comfortable instrument, the neck is not chunky nor skinny (I find it very comfortable) and the guitar is very light weight (like a semi should be).

The flame top is gorgeous and the green gradation is a fantastic step out of the classic sunburst or cherry.
Bridge and tunning machines are just fine and I have no complain about that.
The electronics is the weak part of the instrument (I knew this) but I will probably swap the humbuckers to some PAF type anytime... no hurry.
I already got in the past the Golden Age Parson Street humbuckers from Stewmac and most definitely will repeat the choice.
Back to the guitar... I did the set up myself with Thomastik 0.12s and it has already a low action and fast playing.
I like that the F-holes are a little wider than a classic 335 and what I like even more is the wider neck (it has a name...) in the headstock joint that Ibanez does.
    Thanks for all the contribution!
    Nick

Nice guitar! You’ve got your inner Scofield and Frisell covered with that combo.

My Tele started out like that but I changed the pick guard to white pearl and added a GFS tremolo.I had an Epi Dot about a decade ago, and it played OK but tone-wise not that great. I think it was made in Indonesia. Yes the older Sheratons made in Korea had a good reputation—made in Unsung factory I think?—but my impression is that the newer Chinese-made models have caught up if not surpassed in quality.

I really like the looks of the Sheraton though. The headstock alone looks awesome and suggests a quality jazzbox, not an econo guitar.

Your Ibanez looks pretty cool. I’m sure that shade of green suits you, but it doesn’t go with any of my clothes LOL or fit the vibe of a band playing Sinatra songs.

Not what I've been listening to much rock of late, but I like what she did. , I never heard of her.

The Sheraton has a fantastic quality, sadly the neck was not my cup of tea... to skinny for my taste. Other than that the construction is fantastic and the hardware is really good too.

I think the set of a semi hollow and a solid body cover all the fields (not just for jazz).
I do love the sound of telecaster pickups and the tele was my first love... so it is my to go guitar....
It is something I put on a decent gig bag and there is nothing to worry, I take the bus, the train or even in my bike.
I would go to rehearse jam or whatever; I actually got a zoom multi effect for this purpose so I can take everything in just a gig bag. The multi effect would not be my choice for recording or a serious gig, I prefer single pedals.
With the semi hollow I only feel confident with a hard case which is not the most practical thing to go around.
Thats why these two guitars are the perfect duo (for me).
    Merry jazzy Christmas cats!

I love my Epi 339. It has modified electronics, though, so not a stock axe. That guitar gets most of my attention. I have been thinking about picking up a Sheraton. Thanks to this thread, I want one even more.
