    But PAFs are not wax potted. They will always have more microphonic character than potted pickups. When in doubt a light tap with any ferrous metal will tell you if a pickup is on.

    I verified it. The middle position is the middle and bridge, out of phase.

    IIRC, the bridge/middle isn't wired out-of-phase. The proximity of the two pickups creates some partial phase cancellation. Same as with positions 2 and 4 with a 5-position Strat switch, or the combination of bridge/middle or middle/neck on an ES-5 or Switchmaster. It's a really neat sound. Thibeaux Walker sure used it to good effect. I used to as well, when I had this thing:
