Just been in the studio with my wife's 2015 American Deluxe. Princeton reverb. Did everything from Jimmy Page to contemporary jazz beautifully.

Got one of those myself, destinytot. It's a great way to keep f-holes in my life after selling my archtops.

    floatingpickup,

I did not look closely enough first time 'round to realize what an interesting G&L
    you've scored. Congratulations!

Please keep us posted on the glories of the pickups when convenient, thanks.

The new Fender Professional series Telecaster has a few mods.
Tim Shaw designed pickups being one and if you can see compensated brass saddles (CoBrSa).

I've had the same style of CoBrSa on my Tele and unfortunately they don't work for wound G.
The original straight saddles are more beneficial for wound G intonation.
The style of these means you''ll have to buy a fourth E&A saddle.
I have had issues with the Wilkinson brand which I have mentioned here before and eventually found Kluson Harmonic Saddles which get the Jazzbow seal of approval.
Of course this shouldn't be a game changer but worth contacting Fender for that extra saddle if you want a wound G on your set up. Should be at no extra cost as with other brands.

For those of you whose Eternal Souls are still merely 'at risk' this
factory model with Lollar CC should close the deal.

Titan guitars from California have a low cost solid body guitar with interchangeable pickup/scratch plate system.

How about this? Tele-esque n'est pas?

Then there's a Charlie Christian pickup configuration.

They've settled on a chopped Tele bridge as its easy to install a Bigsby onto it without changing the bridge unit.

They'll do whatever pickup configuration and can send you other systems too!

Interesting, but I'm not interested in a Bigsby or a three barrel bridge.

If anyone asks "can you play jazz on a Tele," here's your answer. And Julian just keeps getting better... BTW, blackguard wiring in this, I think (on second thought, maybe not- that's not his, what, '54).

Solid Mahogany body and neck, shall be a good replacement for my SG Standard I sold because I could not bind with (rounded '50s neck).
That one has a super comfortable neck (standard thin close to slim '60s my favorite)
25.5 scale, Gibson woods, 490R neck and SD Black Winter high output bridge for my metal fix
Whole guitar is 8 pounds, not the lightest but no neck dive perfect for me.

Well I felt so left out that I had to remedy. I just ordered this after playing a few telecasters at the store. My budget was <$1k. I think I would have gone for the Baja after trying a few, but the finish was just so ugly I couldn't stand it. So now I have this babe (50s classic series) coming at an even better price than the Baja. Over time, I'll probably consider putting some lollar pickups, but we'll see how it sounds as is. Not exactly jazz oriented, but I needed something with a whammy bar for surf stuff so this'll do. 2-1/2 pound Paulownia body from Guitar Fetish with my old Allparts neck. Plays great!!

All this Telecaster talk has inspired me to have another one built. The non-standard aspects will be:

    • Slightly wider nut width at 1.6875" (42.9 mm)
    • Thicker C/U neck profile 0.900" (22.9 mm) at 1st fret and 0.980" (24.9 mm) at the 12th fret
    • Lollar Charlie Christian for Tele Neck and B.S. Tele Bridge pickups

I will share when it arrives in the summer...
