    The pot was made on the 40th week of 1959.
    Hofner introduced the toaster pickup and the adjstable trussrod at the beginning of 1960, so this date supports that - it would have taken the pot a few weeks from manufacture to delivery to Hofner and subsequent installation on a guitar.

    I am planning to buy exact same model 456e2, is this laminated top or solid spruce? ?t really means a lot to me. Thanks

    The Hofner Model 456 and its various versions never had spruce tops, laminated or carved. They were always built with laminated maple top plates, back plates and rims.

    The model 457 and its various versions had spruce top plates - early versions with carved spruce tops; later versions with laminated spruce tops.
