    Lombardozzi Guitars

So I have never had a custom guitar built for me electric or acoustic. I am primarily a fingerstyle Jazz guitarist and own or have owned various good to great guitars electrics and acoustics. These include Gibsons, Fenders, Eastmans, Benedettos, Santa Cruz, Martin, Cordobas etc.

My guitar style is a combination of bad classical guitar technique and bebop Wes Montgomery influences. In any event about a year or so I was on Reverb and saw a guitar made by luthier named Sean Lombardozzi. I never bought that specific guitar but ended up striking a nice conversation with Sean.

Although Sean is primarily an archtop builder, he builds classical and steel string guitars. I ended up commissioning him to build my "dream" working man's archtop. I have always enjoyed the George Benson GB 10 but have never been a fan of the double floater. Despite owning 17 and 16 inch archtops, I wanted a smaller sized body but with acoustic properties. I also wanted it to be a laminate but not dead wood and a chunky Gibson neck. In the end, we settled on 14.5 build with spruce top and maple back and sides.

The guitar sounds amazing and sits well in my collection. It is one of the most comfortable guitars to play and the sound is amazing.

Below are some sound samples of me playing my Lombardozzi 14.5 inch

I recently bought a 13.5" double cutaway 1/7/8 deep from Sean. Fully carved and although double mounted pickups it was carved like an acoustic. As the OP says the sound is Amazing and its my #1 player with 6 other finely made archtops standing by. Cratsmanship is on par with any of the top luthiers mentioned on this site. Prices are more like M.C. than say Trenier. Also a super nice guy and very cummunicative. Congratulations to the O.P. for your aquisition...you scored!

The width is 1 3/4 and the neck dimensions are that of a 50s Gibson neck .880 1st - 1.00012th I love thicker Gibson necks. He can shape it to your desired profile. For whatever reasons wide thick necks feel very comfortable in my hands.

Thank you and yes I absolutely love this guitar. I have a Benedetto Bravo Deluxe along with some other high end guitars and this one is getting the most play. Lastly, Sean is not only an excellent luthier but he is a terrific person who will end up being a friend. Highly recommend him for your next build.
