Kurt Rosenwinkel is using one of the new Soloway guitars for part of his current tour (and he will be getting one of his own shortly). There are a bunch of videos of him playing this guitar that are going to be rolled out over the next few weeks but I figured there are folks here who would enjoy seeing this.

Thanks Jim. Just to clarify - the one he has IS his own. He will be getting another custom S14 soon.

Jim, I thought you got out of the guitar manufacturing business?

Thanks for the clarification Chris ... And for those of you who think this is very cool ... all the credit, 100%, goes to Chris. He's the one who made this (and a bunch of other cool things) happen.

I think KR was playing a Moffa. If hes moving to a Soloway thats pretty high praise!

I am absolutely out of the manufacturing end. Chris Cole has brought the company back and all I had to do was provide information and opinion. And he's done a great job.

Yes, thanks, it is very gratifying. But I want to share something Kurt told me. He said he is constantly exploring new ideas tonally and, for that reason, he has "a bit too many guitars." And what he really likes about the Soloway is its versatility: "During that performance, it handled everything I wanted to do. It let me go where I wanted." So now he can scale down the number of guitars.

BUT, he told me, he has a long, close relationship with Nico Moffa that simply won't change. So just to be clear, he's not MOVING TO a Soloway. I am very happy, thankful, and grateful that the Soloway S14 is in Kurt's arsenal NEXT TO the Moffa, giving him what he needs for specific uses.

Thanks Jim. But, you know, sitting on the shoulders of giants and all that.

I love the sound and the talent.

Oddly, he looks more like Russell Crowe these days.

The Soloway guitar lives on! I recently let go of my Gibson ES-175 and gifted my Heritage Eagle to a nephew who is playing jazz now. The only hollow body guitar I have left is my Soloway Gosling single 15” - it is the one I love most to play.

    Which one do you have?

It’s the one with the bubinga top. I think you mentioned that it was the first Single 15” you built. Fantastic sounding and playing guitar!

I believe that's J287. That top came from one of the best pieces of wood I ever came across. It was a massive piece of bubinga that had a hilarious story to go with it from the day I bought it. And yes, it was where the Single 15 began. Looking back on all the years and guitars we built, I really think designing that body was my single greatest achievement.

I'm always struck by how bright my tone was in those days but this is what it sounded like in my hands that day after it was completed.

The beauty is in the simplicity of that guitar's design, beautiful!
    Congrats Jim...
