Swiss army knife of guitars.
-
Ever see that commercial for Reese's Peanut Butter Cups where the screen shows mouth-watering images of chocolate and peanut butter, and then the announcer says "Two great tastes that taste great together"?
This ain't that.
-
So someone used peanut butter and a swiss army knife to build a guitar. Kids these days!

After being initially repulsed by the far out look of this guitar, it's semi-hollow body and pickup configuration might make a nice little jazzer.
Just remove the silly whammy bar, install a tasteful bail tailpiece, then put on a set of flatwounds.

Interest? Not from here.

When I made my smartass comment upthread, I had no idea that this was a real Gibson model! I thought maybe somebody put a Gibson archtop neck on something like a Dean or BC Rich--one of those metal shredder guitars I never have played.
So my apologies to anyone who might actually have and play an N225. Maybe it's great. Maybe it plays like butter--and not peanut butter. What do I know?Last edited by Flat; 10-14-2024 at 09:13 PM.

First time seeing one of these, I'd definitely ask to try it if I saw it in a music store. Intriguing look, would look better with a different tailpiece but the different pickups seem like fun could be had.

From the Gibson Brand Forums:
Well I finally got my N-225 Natural tonight. I literally got off the plane from my honeymoon in Mexico and went straight to Long and Mcquade to pick it up. I had just enough time to plug it in and made it so. Most certainly I will post pics up this weekend as well as a review. I don't own anything with a p90 yet and right off the hop I was very happy with how clean it sounds compared to my others. This guitar seems to do it all so far. Even the vibrato is not an issue at all it seems. A few concerns I'll share with the spray in the f holes looks like another great new guitar day!! Back to playing.
His bride made her own way home, I suppose.

Who has time for a new bride when there is a new guitar to be had?
-
Never seen a blonde one. It looks better than all the flat black one with all the pinstripes on it. There seems to be a lot of those.
