    Dear jazzers,

Here is a new video out.

This time I'm using my Acus amp, especially designed for acoustic instruments. Another beast than the Princeton but interesting in another way.

    Best and take care.

And now, just the acoustic sound of it.

    Best and take care.

That's a gorgeous acoustic tone. What strings are they please?

Thanks. I have those on my L5CES! I don't quite get that beautiful acoustic tone that you have though.

Well, an L5CES is a completely different bird. But what a bird!

Daniel Slaman has based this S400 on a prewar S400 model owned by one of his friends. Probably not as strong acoustically as a real prewar S400 instrument due to the PU, but quite a strong acoustic voice indeed.

    Best.

Do you know anything about the 30s London built Aristone Crown by Abbott? It was supposed to be Abbott's take on the S400/L5. Not to be confused with a similarly named cheaper Besson from E. Europe from the 50s. Thanks.

I found this. It's quite confusing though. Supposed to "eat L5s and S400s for breakfast"!

May be this should be in the 'What Beats an L5' thread.
