Found this website today, pardon me if it's well known, it's new to me.

Guitar Pickup Database - All pickups, easily compared.

Did a humbucker sort by price. Seymour Duncan Zephyr. $479 for a neck pickup. Silver wound and supposed to offer extra clarity. Wonder how that would be for getting a more acoustic tone out of something like a Benedetto style archtop.

Not going to drop that much cash to find out.. but curious how it would be.

Thanks, this was new to me too!

if it had existed about 20 years ago I might not have spent so much money to swapping and testing pickups.

…or maybe I would have spent more!

I didn’t find any info about who keeps the site. Any info about that?

The website owner has a YouTube channel, but it's practically inactive:

    And he's on Instagram:

Has anyone managed to navigate the site for floating pickups? I am having problems.

How does one search for Rail or Blade type single space Humbuckers?

The site search engine is definitely inadequate....

I'd start with the Humbucker category and this I suppose:

    Pole Pieces:

    • Screw (2)
    • Single Rail (17)
    • Single Screw (316)

There's also: Pole Spacing: Universal - "Universal spacing includes rail-style pickups that have no pole pieces."

The website seems to be a work in progress but he is soliciting people's feedback. There are very knowledgeable members of this forum whose input could be invaluable to him.

If you want extra clarity then check out the line of Bartolini pickups - too clear for most but maybe the bees‘s knees for you ?! Tuck Andress uses these exclusively….

I typed Rail into the search box on the webpage.

Seymour Duncan has this pickup comparison chart on their website:

When they used to be somewhat available, I always went with Bartolini humbuckers in my super strats.

    Nothing about Lace Sensors

Great to have something for comparison sake, for sure. But it always seems to lead down a Rabbit Hole, and a whole lotta $$$$ for me at least.
One has to take into account so many other things like the guitar itself and its basic sonic properties. Scale length, wood type, solid body, hollow, chambered, neck type, etc.
All the different things that contribute to its voice, and pickups just amplifying that.

Looked up Rail pickups. Not much on DiMarzio,Becky Wylde, Barden, or even Lace Sensor. Looking at different single space humbucker options.

    Head spinning array..yikes...

Not much into the tech world of pick ups..I know there are some that would make a high yield programmer blush with tech language.
    I have no such hunger.

My Ibanez az2204--(super strat) has unique Seymore Duncan Hyperions.. and they will do almost any task asked..mellow jazz..acid fusion.

These seem to be exclusive to this brand/model.
