    Hey

I‘m trying to contact someone for a great guitar he is selling on tutti.ch but only Swiss residents can open an account. So I was wondering if there are some Swiss guys around here who are signed to the site and could help me get in contact!

I would really appreciate it! Thanks!

I tried to register, but you come to a point where you need a Swiss phone number to verify. You can’t continue without…

    Gee, what an odd policy:

NEW: SMS verification for account registration

In order to further increase the security on the platform for our users and to adapt to current standards on online platforms, tutti.ch introduced SMS verification in April 2023. When registering on tutti.ch, it is no longer just the e-mail address that need to be verified, but also the mobile phone number.

    How does SMS verification work?

After the e-mail address has been verified during the registration process, a mobile telephone number must be entered, which is linked to the registered e-mail address. After entering a mobile phone number correctly (always with area code, the classic “0” before mobile phone numbers is not possible), the user receives:in an SMS with a six-digit number code. If this number code is entered correctly, the phone number is also successfully verified and buying and selling on
    tutti.ch can start.

    Note:
The phone number is not automatically transferred to the profile.

    Conditions

    • Accounts can be registered exclusively with Swiss or Liechtenstein mobile phone numbers.
    • Only one account can be registered per phone number.
    • Account cannot be registered with landline phone numbers.
    • To select the correct country code, simply click the flag in the corresponding field.
    • The mobile telephone numbers of our users: are not used by tutti.ch for advertising purposes or passed on to third parties.

Tutti.ch is a very similar website than ricardo.ch, almost everything from tutti is on ricardo (I think I saw the guitar that you could be interested in...). I have a ricardo account, so please don't hesitate to tell me which guitar it is and I can be the middle man.

    Take care.

    Thanks for your help @Spal!

I found the same guitar on ricardo.ch as well and already registered there. It's just not possible to directly contact the seller there to arrange a phone call or video call, which is pretty annoying...

    Cheers,
    Jonas

If the guitar is in direct sell (achat direct or sofort kaufen) you can scroll down and ask questions (not the best but at least it's a contact to the seller).

    Good luck.

In Switzerland as in many other countries, cyberfraud is skyrocketing and Swiss police are alerting customers repeatedly, as for example here (in French): Escroqueries aux petites annonces - votrepolice.ch

Most of buyer/seller platforms are heavily monitored. There have been a lot of cases of people pretending to be Swiss but living actually in France (or in distant, French-speaking countries), asking for paying transport cost in advance, etc.

FWIW those people will probably be able to obtain a Swiss SIM quite easily; working in Switzerland/living in France is probably one of the most profitable trans-border commuting arrangements you can make so it must be pretty common.

Yes facebook marketplace, anibis and other platforms are full of scams. If you want to selll stuff with ricardo you need a proof of I.D. so it's a bit safer...

I'm planning at trip to Zurich (since I can get a direct flight from Los Angeles to there): Any good jazz clubs that you can recommend?

(from there I'm planning on taking some of those Swiss train rides to other towns).

I mean, It's a good thing that online market places have these kind of authorizations... There are so many scammers out there on Reverb or German "Kleinanzeigen". But usually all it needs is a video call with the seller, where he shows the guitar. As soon as you propose a video call, all the scammers stop responding.
