Does anyone know how to contact whoever is maintaining the Ralphpatt.com website? This is the Vanilla Chords site. I want to let them know that the links on the "Tonal Center" page are no longer working. The Tonal Center page is very interesting and useful. It links you to songs that use similar progressions and modulations. I sent an email to the address on the home page but it is no longer valid. Can anybody help?

Litterick, I just get this from your link.
Attachment 100428
Somebody must be looking after it.

Very odd. It was a link to the domain administration enquiry form, which I obtained from Whois. Yesterday, I saw a form you could fill to tell the site owner what was wrong. Today, I see what you see.
-
I'm a little surprised the website still exists. Sadly, Ralph passed on years ago, so I have no idea who has been paying for the site hosting. It may be gone if no one steps up to pay for it.

There's a lot of info on that Whois link.

I don't know what this means:

Er... I have a confession. I didn't try the link (on the original site) myself before I posted. It works. Why it doesn't for you, I don't know. I'm using Firefox, btw.
-
I just tried, and the Tonal Centers page works fine for me in Firefox. I don't currently have Chrome installed on this machine.
-
The Tonal Centers page comes up for me, but all the links on it (in blue) to the various tune lists come up with ‘403 access forbidden’ type permission messages, I assume this is what the OP was referring to.
-
All my links work. I do have the site bookmarked, I don't know if that makes any difference. Also, I'm on a laptop, not a smartphone. But it works on an old Samsung Galaxy too which I believe uses Chrome.
Sorry, looks like I'm having too much luck with this. Have you checked your settings? I can't think of anything else.
If the worst comes to the worst, and it doesn't happen all the time (!), I'd be happy to post what you want to see here, if that'll do the job.
-
I'm on my chromebook now, and I'm getting forbidden for the links. Maybe it's a chrome thing. Chrome also warns me at every click that the site is unsafe because it uses http instead of https. Https wasn't a thing when Ralph set it up.
-
I appreciate all the responses. It's crazy how the links are working for some people and not others regardless of the browser being used. Maybe the HTTP vs HTTPS has something to do with it.
Anyway, the WayBack machine is working for me. I do hope the website stays up. Patt put a lot of work into it.

I doubt the Wayback Machine will go away but its parent, The Internet Archive, is in trouble over copyright on the books it has digitised. Perhaps you should copy the pages you need, just in case. You can save entire web pages or print them as PDFs.

Is it possible to attach a PDF to a post?
-
See the FAQ re. posting stuff and attachments.
https://www.jazzguitar.be/forum/faq....b3_attachments
Basically there’s an option below the message window called Manage Attachments which lets you do this.

Vanilla.pdf
Let me know if this works.
-
Yes it does!
-
I trust Mr. Patt and his site managers wouldn't mind my posting.
-
I don’t think Mr. Patt is going to be suing you any time soon.
-
Indeed. I suspect that chord charts are still not copyrightable.
Thanks for your help.
