After considering it, the farmer replies, "Yeah, I reckon. But what's time to a pig?"
A room mate and I used to say that to each other whenever either of us was stressed out about something.

Courtesy of Mark Twain:
" When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant, I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years. "

I quite like this that an old friend used to say:
'I take the Taoist approach to life, do as little as possible'.
What made it amusing was that he spent most of his time in the pub or sitting at home watching snooker and quaffing wine. But he was also a great player :-)

Or Joni Mitchell:
'You don't know what you've got till it's gone'.

Mark Twain...
& Rob (Post #24) reminded me of this - when asked to use 'Horticulture' in a sentence Dorothy Parker said
'You can lead a whore to culture but you can't make her think'

- Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity [or my preferred variant: don't assume conspiracy when incompetence suffices to explain].

Einstein, always good for a guitar quote...
