Lots of them.. use names and google it up... besides official recordings there are lots of clips on youtube like Bernsteins/Sivan for example...
Jimmy and Doug Raney - I guess there are two LPs
Joe Pass and Herb Ellis
Perter Bernstein and Joachim Schoenecker
by the way Peter Berstein and Lage Lund duo gig at Smalls was fantastic... I think it is in their Livestream archive.

The recent Jimmy Bruno and Frank Vignola sessions are great. And they were videotaped, so you can see them playing. Great stuff.
("Hangin' with Jimmy & Frank". Available only through TrueFire but definitely worth checking out. They also provide a commentary on how / why they played what they did on each tune.)
Frank has also done some great things with Bucky Pizzarelli.
-
George Barnes and Karl Kress.
Karl used a banjo based tuning, so he sounds a little different.
-
May have missed it, but didn't see mention in either thread for Chuck Wayne & Joe Puma.
-
For current players, Howard Alden and Andy Brown shouldn't be missed. Howard and Jimmy Bruno made several recordings together. And I like Herb Ellis/Joe Pass a lot.

This is incredibly good.

Thanks everyone replying, and, forgot to say, not only jazz duos, if theres something on working 2 guitars (with more instruments or not) would be good to listen (but not "world music", more fusion/"uncategorized" likely).

One of my favorite guitar duo albums is the one Larry Coryell and Emily Remler made; Together. Great interplay - yea, they really are together on this album.
Also check out Cal Collins with Herb Ellis.Last edited by jameslovestal; 12-14-2018 at 01:32 PM.

Howard Alden has some cool recordings with van Eps and with Bucky Pizzarelli.

- Sylvain Luc and Bireli Lagrene
- Jim Hall and Pat Metheny
- George Barnes and Bucky Pizzarelli
- Bucky and John Pizzarelli
- Howard Alden and Marty Grosz
- John Abercrombie and Ralph Towner
These are just a few off the top of my head that I didn't see mentioned here already.

Big fan of a couple "duo" groups, though both are more of a latin flair...
Strunz and Farah... Jardin
La Vienta... Train to Paris

Apologies in advance for expanding the definition of guitar duo to guitar ensemble ... but hopefully, after seeing this performance of A Night in Tunisia you'll grant me the degrees of freedom to add this to the growing list of great guitar collaborations.
This is the third in a series of three performances that also includes Isn't She Lovely and Bye Bye Blackbird. Kudos to the lads - what a delightful show!

If you're willing to go to three guitars, there is the Concord Jazz Guitar Collective - Jimmy Bruno, Howard Alden, and Frank Vignola.
The High Plains Riffters - Bruce Forman, Whit Smith, and Rich O'Brien.
Both albums are very good, IMO.

If any know any album of just 2 guitars (no other instruments/band) would be nice to listen. Thanks, cheers.
