    Or how about;
    Miles Davies says to Louis Armstrong (gruff voice) "Hey Louis baby, how do you get a perfect pitch with the horn mann?" To which Louis replies
    (even gruffer voice) "Its when you lob it into the toilet without hitting the rim!"

    Ha ha ha, just like that,

    I heard Louis Armstrong say it ("only two types of music- good and bad") in an interview on that lousy Ken Burns jazz "documentary". I've also read that it was attributed to Duke Ellington. I personally think it came from Armstrong because Ellington, to my knowledge, never gave pat answers to questions or made simplistic statements.

    I also don't agree with it. "Good" to Armstrong meant making a living, which has nothing whatever to do with music's intrinsic value.
