The lyrics have an underlying political expression that most people are unaware of.
It is a beautiful tune. I play it often.

A few years ago I was at work. I had just printed the lead sheet to "Over The Rainbow" for one of my students to work with that evening, and it was lying on my desk. My friend and co-worker, Adam Arluke, walked by and noted,"My great uncle wrote that song." I looked at him like he had 3 heads and proclaimed, "No, Harold Arlen wrote that song." He replied, "Right, but he changed his name from Hyman Arluck." I looked it up, and it was true!
