I second and triple the admiration of other members, Rob. Your kindness and gentle sincerity always shine through your posts. Though we do not know each other, I'm certain that I would enjoy your company. I bet this all goes well, in spite of the nuisance you are experiencing. Remember to laugh when you can, you are already winning!

Hoping things get better for you soon. I have always appreciated your contributions here and am looking forward to more of it.

Hey Rob, I don’t post much these days, but when I see your posts I always have a listen or read. We met briefly when I bought your deering banjo. I’m sending you positive vibes and you will be in my thoughts when playing said banjo on the show. Get well soon please. Craig.

Robster,
You know you one of my favorite dudes here.
I am so sorry that I have not been on that much lately, I just noticed this minutes ago.
I will be checking back and thinking of you constantly. Stay strong my good man. You’ve always been a friend to me here and I’ve cherished our times together.
I still hold out hope that I’ll meet you in a castle some day. As you pull up in an Aston Martin.
I’ve read that you not a believer, but I am. And I believe that prayer matters. So I will pray that you are well and grace us with your elegance once again.
Stay strong brother.

Cheers, all. I just do my updates on my FB page, as energy is at a premium. From today’s post:
The Fightback Begins! For weeks the doctors have been manoeuvring me into a position where I can be given the main drug to combat myasthenia gravis: rituximab. It could be loosely referred to as the cancer-equivalent of chemotherapy, but milder, less invasive. Well, I had my first of two four-hour infusions yesterday, the second to come in two weeks’ time. So far, so good. The dangers are that it is an immuno-suppresent, opening me up to other attacks, but they could administer other drugs to combat those. They say most people feel the benefits within one to six weeks. Meanwhile the Physio department is building up my strength, and I had my first taste of custard! Food of the Gods! Or so it seemed. Just half a teaspoon, but I managed to swallow it. I’m on the road home, but it might take a couple of months. After that I will receive Out-Patient treatment for as long as I need it. But as things stand, I still can’t swallow, speak, or breathe without a ventilator. I’ve lost a lot of weight, and see with double vision. Otherwise I’m fine ?

Ah, Rob, so good to hear from you. While it sounds like the situation is still rough, it also sounds like progress and that is encouraging. I hope it continues, especially now that you're in a position to begin the main treatment!
-
Thanks for the update, Rob. I’m glad to hear that you are on the path for treatment. They are doing amazing things through infusions these days, from cancer treatments to osteoporosis, and now MG. There is great reason for optimism. Here’s to a full recovery!
