Hi! I’m working on Vic Juris’ solo on his album Eye Contact.
at 2:38 (beginning of the second A section) he plays some chords. I think the top notes are D, Bb, C, Ab. Is the first chord F-C-D?
Would love a little help spelling out these 4 chords.
thanks!

Not in a position to assist at the moment, but pleased to see Vic enter the chat for the second time in a week.
What a gift, that dude is, even still.

So, the dissonance produced by open string chords is often instantly recognizable, as is the case here (but his distorted tone partly masks it). I think these are the chords Vic played.

Sounds to me the lead
out of previous section
just before @2:38 ends
[x 6 9 x x x] Eb B
Then, the new part starts out
with two chords, each played
as overlapped triad inversions
Bb7
[x x x 7 9 6] D Ab Bb
[x x 6 7 6 x] Ab D F
Ab7
[x x x 5 7 4] C Gb Ab
[x x 4 5 4 x] Gb C Eb
Does this sound right?
Now I'm not sure I'm
where you are asking
after seeing Mick-7's.
If it helps, below is a piano
that plays and marks notes

Well yes, Bb7 (alt) > Ab7 (alt), but the open B string against the Bb & C notes produces that minor second dissonance.

Thanks! checking this out. I'll write some of the it out when i get a chance. At th 3:00 mark - does it sound to you like he plays a phrase into a looper or turns on a delay pedal briefly?
I hear a repeated Bb-G-F-Eb figure and a 2nd descending line starting on Eb. He must have played the riff into a looper and held it for a just a few measures and then released it.
