For those following along may I recommend two books;

1) The Pianists Guide to Historic Improvisation by John Mortensen

2) Harmony, Counterpoint, Partimento by Job Ijzerman

The first book is a great overview of baroque improvisation techniques and will get you started with baroque improv nearly straight away.

The Ijzerman book is much more in-depth but is a fascinating study.
