    Am7 instead of F/A for me is an error. Simplification means F instead of F/A

    Correct. You'll notice that my transcription of the Joe Pass version and also the "official" lead sheet mentioned above contain that change. Joe plays it as Fmaj9/A (A-7#5) and moves down chromatically to Ab-13.
