I agree on learning to read lead sheets. I can see that tab might be useful for various speed exercises. But in general, it is way less useful than reading. Isn't the joy of music playing...
Problem is most of them are w nice clean vintage guitars, but not all. I have a pretty nice stash. They're part of my 401K which includes vintage amps and guitars.
There are still some nice clean vintage cases out there. This beauty came with my ‘63 L5C. Keith
I sold my Eastman T486B and the guy didn't want the pickups so we settled on a lower price without them, so here they are along with a couple Pete Biltoft Vintage Vibe HCC's. Both of the CC's came...
Not as many as earlier. Acus acoustic. Home brew Marshall 1984, Tweed Deluxe, 5902-based Harvard, 5e5a, Twin Reverb, single-channel DR. I don’t use any of them any more. Oh, and a Revibe. And a...

That sums up my story as well. If I was leaving the house more with the old guitars, I would prefer a newer sturdy case. Since I stay at home, there is a sense of joy cracking open the old case...
If you want to get into the really grotesque, there's also an "Aged Olive Drab" option from Collings, complete with pointless finish checking.
I'm working exclusively on 3 part 4ths, putting together a multi tiered approach with chord shape grids, aids on how to navigate, ear training approaches and then suggestions on how they can be used...
I don't think we can get away from it entirely because it shapes the music but I think it's probably true that there's been nothing actually new for a very long time.
Absolutely. In the late 60's a friend of mine had to hire a dep for a gig in Belfast. The union sent him a fresh faced young boy who didn't know either the band or it's repertoire. He simply asked if...
