Hi!
This is the theme of THE DAYS OF WINE AND ROSES played in two versions:
1) A traditional chord-melody style
2) A hybrid style that alternates between single notes and chords
This second way seems to me even more effective at a rhythmic level than the traditional chord melody.
In the video there is also a rather boring description of mine which if you have the courage you can follow by activating the automatic YouTube subtitles translation.
You can download the PDF transcriptions of the two versions for free from my website:
The Days of Wine and Roses - Part 1
Thank you!
Ettore
Chord Melody starts at 4:28
Hybrid Style (Self - Comping?? ) starts at 7:40

Suoni magnificamente.
Mi piacciono entrambe le versioni!

Thank-You Pauln!
You can't imagine how happy I am reading your comment.
For me it is very important to know that someone appreciates my playing because unfortunately I have a very small EGO.....
In addition to a small ego I am also small in stature....and I also have very small hands.
Luckily I have a GREAT passion for the Jazz guitar.
As soon as there is less heat (Italy is oppressed by a heat wave) I will record a single note study on Days of Wine and Roses.....always using my very small hands.
Ancora grazie!

Very nice Ettore!
(I lean more towards the second approach myself.)

Greetings from a very hot Italy.

Just came across this video -- and I love it. I definitely prefer the second arrangement; you did a great job!
I, too, am short in stature, have small hands, and love Epiphone jazz guitars. You've become my hero!
Many thanks for your post!
