Welcome to my 502nd solo guitar video on YouTube, "Reminiscing" by Little River Band! Obviously not a jazz standard but it is a fun little song from a great era of pop music with a beat that jumps, is a great vehicle for fingerstyle as well as improv, interesting jazz harmony with lots of secondary dominants and the type of chord changes we will likely never see again in a number 1 hit... Check it out! Thanks, Jake

That one had a pretty nice trumpet solo.

Indeed! I'll often make a reference to specific solos and other unique features of an original recording but as a solo guitar arranger I often have to make compromises. As this song is also a story told by the vocals, the trumpet over the A section at the end creates a nice contrast. When I play it though, just instrumentally, I think that adding one more A would be just be more of the same so instead I just ended the arrangement by playing the intro once more and out.

HAHA! These are all from my heydays in the 90's as a session guitarist when this stuff actually made a difference... I use virtually none of these anymore but they make for a nice background.

Wow, this arrangement is getting more attention here that most of my 'proper' jazz arrangements, lol... Cool, thanks! :-)
