Can you do a Klein bottle? :-) On a Klein guitar for extra marks...

    Haunting composition, I like it...

Can you do a Klein bottle?
By separating the Klein bottle according to its plane of symmetry, you will obtain two Moebius spaces ;-)
So, you have to hear my composition twice Christian !

    I don't have a Klein guitar,but a Steinberger GL3S of 1987 ;-)
    cheers

    Hi Again HB
Would you share your thoughts about the contents of this piece?
I think I hear that its a work around the augmented scale , maybe with chords you have extracted from that scale.
Once again it sounds so wonderful, and like yourself.

Yes,it's a work around the augmented scale anc chords extracted from the scale.
You can see a big post around this scale in the theory forum of 04-13-2015.

As for the progression,I borrowed regions of Cmajor and of A major, following the Schoenberg principles of "clusters of related scales:see my post in theory forum of 11-20-2014.

    C major Cluster
In the Schoenberg theory,C major scale (the Tonic scale) and Aminor scale(the relative minor of C)have 2 closely related major Keys and 2 closely minor Keys:

-Fmajor scale (subdominant scale) and Dminor scale (relative minor of F)
-G major scale (dominant scale) and Eminor scale (the relative minor of G)

    Deeper in the Schoenberg's theory,
There are parallel minor regions of the C major scale, with their relative major regions:

    Eb scale--Cm scale--C major scale
    Ab scale--Fminor scale--F major scale
Bb major scale--G minor scale--G major scale

and parallel major regions of the C major scale, with their relative minor regions:

    Cmajor scale--Aminor scale--Amajor scale--F#minor scale
    Fmajor scale--Dminor scale--D major scale--F#minor scale
Gmajor scale--E minor scale-- E major scale--C# minor scale

For Moebius space,I took Cminor--Cmajor--Aminor--A major
    and
    E minor--E major

I choosed also fragments of the regions of Amajor scale, the same way.

The sheet has the followed harmony, with augmented scales of those scales:

    A :C / C /Cm/Cm/G7/AmE7/ A/A/

    A' :Am/Am/Dmin7b5/G7/Cm/B7/Em/E/

    B :E/Em/Em/D#mG#7/C#/C#/C#m/C#mG7/

    A :C/C/Cm/ Cm/Bm7b5E7/AmE7/A/A/

    cheers

    Beautiful compositon, HB!

Given your interest in composing and apparently Schoenberg, could you recommend any formal texts by him or others that you find helpful in studying composition?

Also, from a technical point of view could you describe your signal chain here? I hear what sounds a bit like a synth pad.

Thanks for the detailed and comprehensive response!

Again a lovely composition and beautiful recording. Is music your profession or avocation? I will certainly be listening to more of your recordings.

EDIT - Laughing...I just checked your bio - jazz musician and retired physician! Like me. I just hung up the stethoscope last fall. Endocrinology is a demanding field. To be honest I prefer playing music.

    And astrophotography sounds fascinating.

I lived in Italy for over a decade. I miss it terribly, though I did meet my wife there. We may return in the next four or five years if I live that long. I miss civilization....

You could release that on vinyl, if you could find a way to make a record with only one side.

    ..as me Targuit!

What said Mark Kleinhaut elsewhere on this forum, the advantage to have another job wich yields money, especially if you have a family, that's you're more mind free to make music, without compromises.

I send you the URL of my astrophoto gallery:

    Hey BigDaddy!
I followed your suggestion, but the tuner refuse to read the vinyl, cause the strange form !!
I return to my idea: a normal vinyl with me on one side and you on the other,and---of course !!---

Both the table and the guitar would make nice trees.

H.B., that's a very listenable composition. Enjoyed it very much. As it progressed I wondered if the ending would be satisfying. When you hit the last chord it felt very stable. Nice work.
