Welcome to my 648th fingerstyle solo jazz guitar arrangement video on YouTube "Stompin' at the Savoy," the classic jazz standard. While this tune was performed by countless, not the least Benny Goodman, my first exposure to the tune was the Joe Pass version, off his album "Intercontinental", the album that near single-handedly turned me on to straight ahead jazz guitar, especially chord melody wise (even though it's a trio album, while he was more famous for his solo work). This entire album is like going to school for jazz guitar, in terms of sound, phrasing, pacing, repertoire... Here is my humble tribute. How do you like it? Also, want to hear/see this and any of my thousands other arrangements live? Join me for one of my regular live-streams which I do on this channel almost every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 7PM EST from my gig at The Earle restaurant, where I have been performing continuously for the past 33 years... Got a request? Let me know in the comments!

I usually listen to your renditions without watching the video or reading your text, and on this one I got caught (in a good way). Wondering how come I had never heard that Joe pass version before?
Great stuff as always ,
Thanks for posting

Wow! Very impressive – thanks for sharing it here. Easy and enjoyable listening.
I also like the way you often have the LP dust jacket on view for the album.
