Based on the Jeff Arnold arrangement from Jazz Ballads.

A, We could just continue the Arnold chord melody thread, doesn't have to be a formal weekly thing. Whenever someone wants to do another song from the book, one can join him/her or not.

Sure if anyone wants to add to this thread that would be great. I am working through the book anyway and will post new tunes when I have something half decent.

That's really nice, and I love hearing the new model Epiphone as well. Some very fine touches in the arrangement. I think I'll have to dig it out and try it. I've played this tune for ages, with my own treatment, but I get stuck in my favorite phrases and learning a new one is refreshing.

Thanks Lawson. That would be great if you joined in. There are lots of nuggets to be mined from learning these arrangements. The more reps that I do, the more alterations I start to add as well. But it is nice to have a solid base to work from.

Not sure a dedicated thread is necessary, this whole Chord-Melody sub forum is open to anyone who wants to post stuff from whatever resource(s) they use.

Please join in on this tune if you feel like like it. That would be great! Play your own thing, no need to play someone else's stuff if that is not your cup of tea.

I play these arrangements because it suits my talent level.

I was thinking along the lines of a thread in which everyone arranges a chord melody of the same tune(s), and we exchange ideas on arranging, the chord voicings we used, voice leading, etc. - versus individuals just posting their recordings, which usually doesn't lead to any sort of productive interaction.

Yeah, that's not my cup of tea. I really don't like talking about stuff too much, I find it too time consuming and rather dry. But by all means if you want to do this certainly don't let a lack of interest on my part stop you.
