    Hi Everyone!

I've been furiously busy over the last few months researching which machines would be best for manufacturing. The only criteria is that the machines are of the highest standards, in the given budget.

The following companies met that criteria:

    Felder
    SCM
    Air Press

    Graco or Wagner
    JAZZCNC

To find out which machines were best in class, I travelled around the UK with a 1.5 m straight edge and a set of feeler gauges, much to the amusement and annoyance, of the sales people, in their respective establishments.

Here is the cream of that crop:

    Planer/Thicknesser:

    Felder AD941 Planer/Thicknesser.

Wow! some big league stuff. That CNC looks very intriguing. Future way to rough stuff out.

What volumes (or quantity of concurrent projects) you looking at?

Dust management and extraction (probably the most underrated equipment in a wood shop. Your respiratory system will think you in years to come. And keep your work space manageable. Find yourself an Oneida type of cyclonic separator.

An a good tool cabinet to keep all those precious hand tools safe. (Seek out Chis Schwarz)

    Good luck!
