Is it possible to wire a Humbucker and a regular Tele Bridge pickup using a 4 way switch ? Im trying to get both series and parallel wiring on the neck pickup, both pickups together and lead single coil Tele.
Yep. I did that with Dimarzio Area Ts and with Wilde L280TN, both stacked humbuckers. No reason PAF style won't work. If there is a pick up cover it needs to be grounded separately. The diagrams ought to make things pretty clear.
although with a Dimarzio Area T (with cover) and then a Wilde L280TN (no cover). Haven't done it with a PAF style bucker, but I don't see why it wouldn't work with a 4 wire conductor. You might need to ground the cover.
One other ? Since I'm using both a Humbucker and a Single Coil what ohm pots should be used? I've seen diagrams with both 500k a d 250K as well as a mix.
Not sure which to go with?
Perhaps you could use 500k/250k dual ganged pots. I have a Strat with PAF buckers in the middle and bridge, SC in the neck and wired it so that there is a 250/500k volume pot, 250k tone pot for the neck and 500k tone for the buckers. I used one side of the switch as the 250k side and the other side for the 500k side- no jumper between the common terminals on the switch.
So, I've been looking at Afternoon in Paris the last couple of days, and there's a peculiarity w some of the Real/Fake book lead sheets. The first A section have a little melody line in the last two...
Looks like a pretty good book.
This is a very specific style he's covering. This is 4 beats to the bar RHYTHM guitar. Swing/Big Band stuff...It is not "comping." Well, I suppose you can think of...
I'd suggest avoiding the Real Book on this tune. Someone on the forum here passed along this lead sheet to me when I was learning off the Charlie Parker recording and I've used it and found it...
I haven't tried one of the IBG's yet, so can't comment specifically. Overall, I find Epi vs Gibson a very strange subject. Gibson on the headstock + made in the USA somehow activates different...
Maybe I’ll consider YouTube. The Barney album you posted is there, but it’s not on Spotify. I have that very CD arriving today from an eBay purchase, my first CD purchase in 70 million years. I’m...
All this talk about imports has made me wonder again about the Walkin' Archtop Tributes.... those sure look and sound to be a great value and seem to be made entirely in Japan. I'm set for archtops,...
I’ve signaled this before, now for real: the TOOB/Metro cab business needs a successor/partner. Why: I’m 77 and beginning to feel it. I’d have to continue another 13 years until my elder son, the...
