Is it possible to wire a Humbucker and a regular Tele Bridge pickup using a 4 way switch ? Im trying to get both series and parallel wiring on the neck pickup, both pickups together and lead single coil Tele.
Yep. I did that with Dimarzio Area Ts and with Wilde L280TN, both stacked humbuckers. No reason PAF style won't work. If there is a pick up cover it needs to be grounded separately. The diagrams ought to make things pretty clear.
although with a Dimarzio Area T (with cover) and then a Wilde L280TN (no cover). Haven't done it with a PAF style bucker, but I don't see why it wouldn't work with a 4 wire conductor. You might need to ground the cover.
One other ? Since I'm using both a Humbucker and a Single Coil what ohm pots should be used? I've seen diagrams with both 500k a d 250K as well as a mix.
Not sure which to go with?
Perhaps you could use 500k/250k dual ganged pots. I have a Strat with PAF buckers in the middle and bridge, SC in the neck and wired it so that there is a 250/500k volume pot, 250k tone pot for the neck and 500k tone for the buckers. I used one side of the switch as the 250k side and the other side for the 500k side- no jumper between the common terminals on the switch.
If we're playing a turnaround in C, and I play blues stuff, and the pianist plays those chords, it'll sound good.
If I play C major and G altered, it'll sound good.
If I play Ab7#11 and Galt,...
I was thinking of latency correction applied to the metronome function I mentioned, which would be possible. Indeed, you can't shift streamed audio back in time (you'd need to predict notes that...
Isn't it?

Yes, well, there's tension and there's tension, i.e. making a mess of it. If the pianist is playing...
ps - for a cheaper, and more widely available, alternative: you could take a look at the DV Mark Jazz or Little Jazz. It is a bit of step down quality-wise, in my view and experience, from the Mambo...
I'm a big fan and saw him back in the day at the Village Vanguard in NY. I was amazed by his circular breathing technique and playing nose flute. I even named my cat after him!
Realistically, this isn't really how improvising and chord embellishment works. We often have tension between all the passing chords the band is playing and what the soloist is playing, rather than...
Howard Rees told me of Kirk playing at the Colonial in Toronto and there was an obnoxious drunk blathering on while Kirk was soloing. Kirk gets off the stage, wades through the tables, blind and...
Then try to ask yourself how much you'd expect an unbranded mass-produced guitar-shaped box made of pressed laminate plates with a mass-produced PU to cost?
I think all three of the platforms I use have a metronome function that sends a synchronized click. That works ok but you lose the normal time feel of a good drummer. I doubt that they do any kind of...
Welcome - both to the forum and the world of jazz guitar!
I am also based in the UK and I have experience of both Mambo and Henriksen amps. Both are great, in my book.
I wouldn't say that...
The point of amps like Henriksen and Mambo is they are portable, well built and sound good in loud, live settings, especially with archtops and acoustic instruments.
If you are at a stage where...
hey Rick... sorry i had to leave ...
Anyway what or where I'm going is .... it's not that simple. There are layers of what can and is going on all the time. By that I mean you have multiple...
Used Henriksen or Mambo amp
