The Botanical is finished - and being hand delivered this Wednesday. Bryant built another “ one off” masterpiece.

Here is the link to his Instagram page with pics.

Magnificent guitar what a joy. I sure wish I could play it. I would love to find one of Bryant's New Yorkers but my guess is they are price out high and not available. Great guitar to have Steve.

I took the liberty of posting some of the photos from Trenier's Facebook page.

The Botanical arrived yesterday - and the anticipation of this moment was building for quite some time. After giving Bryant a big hug , it was time to open the case. I lifted the lid and gasped at the beauty of this guitar. It screams D’Angelico / Monteleone - but it’s neither, nor is it pretentious, its a Trenier at the highest level one can imagine.

The detailed mosaic binding around the perimeter of the body and up both sides of the neck is extraordinary. The acanthus leaf mop truss rod cover has many parts to it, and it took a lot of thought and time make .

My initial impression is that this guitar is comparable to the offerings of my good friend John Monteleone - without having to pay 6 figures, and should be commanding well over 20k.

After gazing at the details for quite some time - it was time to play it. One chord strummed and I knew this was about to be the finest guitar of my collection. As for the sound - it contains the round sweetness of the best 50’s D’Angelico with the power of a Monteleone. The voice is cello like with a rich deep resonance and endless sustain.
It’s the culmination of learned knowledge pouring out of three sound holes with no restraint. My 77’ D’Aquisto pales in comparison to this guitar - not even close.

It’s the sound of the modern Archtop -and it’s called the Trenier !

This is the new design which Bryant calls the “long form”, similar to the terminology used to describe the Stradivarius long form. It’s body is approx 1” longer than my Georgian , body depth is 3.187, scale 25.125. The neck angle has a slight increase in set angle compared to the D’Aquisto design, yet the trailing angle off the tail piece is not too steep, resulting in ease of play, with this powerful engine under your fingertips. It’s sits well on your leg and doesn’t feel like a big guitar.

These changes give it the power, while retaining outstanding sustain and resonance found in all Trenier’s

I’ve now played 3 guitars from Bryants bench in France - and convinced he has entered his golden period. I’ve seen this with D’Aqustio and Monteleone, and now with Bryant Trenier.

For those who want an extraordinary acoustic Archtop from one of the best in the World, I suggest ordering one of these now, since his guitars will likely be over 20k in the not too distant future. His goal is to follow in the path of John M- building one off custom builds, and he’s well on his way.

Thanks to all for watching and participating in the build.

Great shot the guitar and a good shot of both of you. Aging well Steve and the guitar just looks beautiful one of the most enticing I have seen. I am a huge fan of the neck not going out straight at the bass side extension. I have been playing the guitar for 52 years and to my knowledge on an archtop never have played a note above the 15th fret on the low EAD strings. It looks good and make so much more sense.

    Mark,
Thanks for the kind words. I wish you could play this guitar. It’s at the very top of what’s possible with an Archtop guitar. An extraordinary instrument which has far exceeded my expectations.

    Fal,
So nice to hear from you and congrats on your Trenier membership. Bryant’s work continues to evolve with new ideas and artistic styling. But it’s the astonishing voice of his instruments that’s become synonymous with the very best.
