    Please excuse me for saying this if it is not the case, but this thread feels a bit "shillish" to me. Might just be me, and just my opinion. In any case, welcome and I hope to see you posting here about jazz guitar; I think that someone with a lifetime's worth of jazz guitar playing would have a great deal to offer this community.

    One day i read that Jaco invented the fretless electric bass guitar so he could sound like Frank Sinatra.
    That woke me up...since that day i try to sound like Luther Vandross on the jazz guitar...it opened a universe for me.
    From this day, when I read above, I declare I want to sound like Frank Vanjaco on Acid.
