Here’s an amazing version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow, played by Tommy Emmanuel.
For those of you that don’t know Tommy: he’s an Australian fingerstyle guitarist, known for his virtuosity and energetic performances. Chet Atkins had a big influence on his guitar playing.
He scored first place twice (2008 and 2010) in the category “Best Acoustic Guitarist” of Guitar Player Magazines‘ reader poll and Rolling Stone Magazine gave him the title “Best Guitarist” from 1991 to 1994.
Tommy Emmanuel usually uses a thumb pick to play bass on the 5th and 6th strings, while playing chords and melody with his other fingers. He’s known for his use of harmonics and playing percussive effects on the guitar body.
