Guitar Cords, gitar, giutar tabs & other typos

Welcome to the typo page!

The reason you landed on this page is probably because you made a spelling mistake in your search query.
Don't worry, we all make them!  And who can blame you, with names like John McLaughlin and Al Di Meola.

I'll help you on your way to find the page you are looking for:

  • The spelling mistake made the most in the guitar web world is guitar cords.  People who are looking for a guitar cord chart and free guitar cords are actually looking for guitar chords.
  • Tablature is also a hard word to write.  I can't offer you free guitar tabliture or guitar tableture, but you can find a lot of guitar tablatures in the licktionary.
  • When people type too fast words get abbreviated like for example gitagitarjazguitar lesons or tablatur.
  • Another phenomenon is the wrong order of letters.  Luckily, according to resent research, the order of the letters in a word doesn't matter too much, as long as the first and the last letter are in place.
Everyone knows what giutar tabs or giutar chords are or what is meant by a giuatr or a gutiar.
  • I don't really know what a quitar is, but I guess quitars look pretty much the same as guitars.
  • And then there are the names: Aldi Meola (Al Di Meola), Bill Frissell (Bill Frisell), John Mac Laughlin or John Maclaughlin (John McLaughlin), Kenny Burell or Kenny Burrel (Kenny Burrell), Steve Kahn (Steve Khan), Pat Methany (Pat Metheny) and Django Reinhart or Reinhard (Django Reinhardt) doesn't play gipsy guitar, but gypsy guitar.
  • Another phenomenon is the joining of words, with or without a hyphen:  guitartabs or guitar-tabs,  guitarlessons,  free guitar lessons on line,  sheetmusic, ...

But like I told you, don't worry about spelling mistakes, everyone makes them and I would be grateful if you report the ones I make on this site.
And just in case you make too much typos for your own good, there's help in this book:
