Default Developing A Method to Build a Foundation-Revisited

Indulge me please. I have two questions about this thread which appeared 6/13/09 in the Theory section.

Flatfive, would you reread the post you started and update it. How did your plan work and what changes did you make as time went on? What would you have done differently based on what you now know?

Comments from the other contributors (and anyone else, of course) will also be welcome. Deja vu.

Second question concerns the book, "Book of Harmony, Theory and Voicing" by Bret Willmore, which was mentioned in that thread. I have had this book for several years but it was too much for me (and still is). Can anyone recommend a primer (or two) that I could work with before tackling this book again?

I started reading the theory posts from the beginning and am amazed at all the knowledge available. I thought an update on flatfive's thread would be especially enlightening.

Thanks for any and all responses, from an old "noobie."
