Default Chuck Wayne"s approach

Saw some examples of Chuck Wayne"s playing on youtube, got to his
Wikipedia site and read that he had an own approach to scales:
for major
minor
harmonic minor
he used a fingering system that goes from low E to high e:
E-2notes
A-3notes
D-3notes
G-3notes
b-2notes
e-2notes

As far as I understand it ,that"s CAGED system,so what I"m missing?
As written in Wikipedia,Mr.Wayne was so impressed with Charlie Parker"s
tone and notes that he devised this system to as fast and effortless as
Mr.P
Yes,I"ve ordered the book Chuck Wayne-Scales,but maybe I might get
an explanation from here?
Thank you

I briefly looked through his books. It showed lots of one octave scales. I don't recall if they were similar to caged, but I remember being really underwhelmed by the material. Very basic and sparse info. I think his books are only useful if you are a complete beginner. I would cancel your order if you can, I promise you they will be a disappointment.
